For us people who are working on our mud quietly and aren't really open to players, is it possible to have a mud added so we can work on it but not have it show up in the master game list? I guess for lack of a better phrase, a private listing? Right now I just pop the address in the browser address bar and navigate that way, but it would be nice for development purposes.
Just a thought (which might make no sense).

If you don't particularly care about macros and triggers, you can develop without being listed at all. Here's how:
1. Create a script (could be a copy of an existing example) under Articles & Files.
2. Put the server:port in the meta keywords and save the script in category "Private".
3. Add "&dev=1" to the /play URL. This should result in your script loading on the page, even if it's in "Unpublished" state. WIthout this parameter, the script will load only if you "publish" it.
If you do want to use macros, triggers, and other user prefs, you'd have to list the game in some way. Maybe I'll add something to signal to players that some games are in "ALPHA" or "BETA" phase, etc.
At this point though, I would just list the game if I were you. Even if we start getting players, my guess is they will initially come via deep links directly to certain games. Or, in the worst case, the off visit may motivate you to work harder and faster on your game

Done. Check your user menu.

I'm not seeing a private category and it seems like the trash button doesn't work.

I didn't see the option for leaving it in an unpublished state. Where is it?plamzi wrote: You can now submit a MUD listing that can be left in an unpublished state. It will appear in the Game Center list for you only.
Thanks again.

When you edit the article, you should see a dropdown with categories. "Private" should be one of them, under "App Code". When you move the file there, you'll be able to trash it.
Let me know if you're not seeing "Private" in that dropdown.

This is odd--I tested with a user that had your level of access. I also see other users that successfully posted code to "Private".
Can you tell me where exactly you are looking?
You should be clicking on "Edit" on a file under "Articles & Files" and then scrolling down to the Categories dropdown.

OK, found the issue. You should be able to move your copy out of "Examples" now.
Apparently the system let you create new files under other categories (which is what other people did), but moving a copy out of Examples was disallowed. Thanks for reporting.
When you submit a new listing, it defaults to Unpublished state. I'll leave yours in that state until further notice. Can you confirm that you see your game in Game Center?

I do not see my unpublished game though in the Game List or under My Profiles though.
