No. When I submitted my game listing, I first tried copy/pasting directly from another MU* listing, but I saw immediately how that broke the formatting. So, I copy/pasted it into notepad, then from there copy/pasted to the editor on here. The final posted format still differed from the way it appeared on preview. With the God Wars II review I submitted, I typed that in completely by hand - formatting again wonky. Is there even a way to edit reviews once they've been posted?plamzi wrote: Are you by any chance pasting text from a text editor like Word? No. I mean the number displayed in the top right corner of each post. For instance, your post that I'm replying to is "#40", which is the 40th post on the site, but not the 40th in this thread.plamzi wrote: Do you mean the number displayed under a user's avatar inside a thread?
Edit: Nevermind on editing of the player reviews. I found the button and edited it. Also, it looks like that one had the formatting changed manually to insert a page break and split the paragraphs in a different way.

How did it differ? Was it a question of fonts or the automatic layout of the image, or was it formatting you did inside the editor not showing up or showing up incorrectly?

You found out that you see an "edit" link below your article body when you navigate to it. I'll soon add a page where you can edit all your articles in one place.

Good eye. Changed.

I made some edits to the review prior to publishing it.

Yes. It seems to strip out some whitespace (like tabs) and EOL characters. I'm not running into the issue anymore, but the second time I edited my game listing, it looked fine in the preview function, then when it posted - it was very jumbled. I've fixed it for now.plamzi wrote: was it formatting you did inside the editor not showing up or showing up incorrectly?

Some suggestions:
1) Link reviews to the game they belong to so they appear on search results for the game.
2) Add some additional searchable options to game listings (might require some more discussion).
3) Would it be possible to support RSS feeds for subscriptions instead of e-mailed alerts/summaries?

Got that one, too. I guess I have to unpublish the menu item until there are some listings in that category.

How did you search for the game? When I added the meta keywords "godwars" to your review, I was able to see it in site search. "God wars" was already matching it.
Apparently, the component I'm using to handle MUD listings doesn't let me cross-link to articles from listings very easily, the way I can add external links. Will have to be coerced a bit at some point.

Looks like out-of-the-box there is only one global RSS feed for the whole forum. Unfortunately, something seems broken about it. Will look into it.
